PAINT THE TOWN YELLOW!

Castlemaine residents are welcomed to decorate their homes and gardens in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Castlemaine State Festival.

The Castlemaine State Festival office has been delighted to receive numerous expressions of interest from residents wishing to become involved with the 2015 Festival. In response, the Festival invites residents to join in the spirit of the 40th anniversary by decorating their homes and gardens (even your cars and tractors) using Festival colours and shapes.

Decorative elements can include the colour yellow and the shape of the cone which are central to this year’s graphic design; but residents are also welcome to play with their own imagination and mad festive ideas.

Local resident Lynne Grigg has offered a $100 cash prize for the best resident exhibit. The Castlemaine Festival Office will also add 2 complimentary tickets to its major Town Hall performance Gurrong featuring Archie Roach and other special guests.

“There will be thousands of visitors to our region during this 40th anniversary Festival celebration. Decorating your own patch to help promote and celebrate the Festival is a great way to embrace and express in playful and
imaginative ways what the Festival means to you.

As anticipation of the 2015 Castlemaine State Festival builds, your participation in this way will
help to further contribute to the excitement felt by thousands of residents and
visitors leading up to, and during the biennial event.”
Martin Paten, Castlemaine State Festival Director.

Decorations can ideally be displayed a week or two before the Festival commences on 13 March 2015 and during the ten days of the festival.

To enter, simply photograph your decoration and email it to decoration@castlemainefestival.com.au detailing your name, address and phone number.

The full printed Festival Program has now hit the streets and can be collected from the Castlemaine Market Building Box Office.
