Castlemaine State Festival are proud to be able to share this iconic building with the Castlemaine community and beyond. Now available to hire for artistic creation, performances and events, CSF have also commenced planning for further development of the space to enhance opportunities for use by the community as well as create a home for the Festival.

Hire Castlemaine Goods Shed

The Castlemaine Goods Shed is Castlemaine State Festival’s new creative hub. Soon to become a living artistic-cultural centre and the permanent home of the Castlemaine State Festival, the Castlemaine Goods Shed is an extraordinary space now available for hire.

Spacious and raw yet featuring Victorian architectural details and stunning acoustics, the Castlemaine Goods Shed offers 350 square meters of open plan floor space for developing, testing and presenting creative projects and hosting a broad range of events. Located in the Castlemaine railway precinct,  the Goods Shed is easily accessible by public transport.

Please note that in 2019 the Castlemaine Goods Shed will only be available for hire until Friday 17 May. Bookings will reopen again in 2020.

Support the development of the Goods Shed

Castlemaine State Festival has commenced planning to transform the current raw space of the Castlemaine Goods Shed into a creative hub in heart of the town. Support from government, philanthropic and private donors will enable the Castlemaine Goods Shed Project, the first stage of a major conversion of this magnificent asset, delivering long term benefits into the future for the Castlemaine State Festival and the community.
