The mythology of ‘the 27 club’ has persisted through the decades, since some of the most feted – and tortured – artists in modern music’s history left the building forever upon hitting this most fateful of years. On the plus side, we wouldn’t have this Adelaide Fringe award-winning show without the misfortune of Joplin, Winehouse, Cobain, Morrison and Hendrix. They’re celebrated by Australian rock icons Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus) and Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah, Bob Evans) with Carla Lippis (Mondo Psycho), Cam Blokland and Dusty Lee Stephensen (Wanderers) – all of whom, thankfully, are over 28.
