Castlemaine State Festival presents
Qwerin
Queer nightlife collides with traditional Welsh folk dancing in this pulsating mash-up that’s rich with movement, music and colour.
The brainchild of Osian Meilir, who trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and has since collaborated widely with artists and dance companies, Qwerin has an original soundtrack by some of Wales’ most renowned musicians and costumes that edgily interpret traditional Welsh folk dress. Meilir has given a contemporary edge to the weaving and flowing patterns of folk dancing, but the main emphasis here is on joy.

- THEATRE IN WALES
It really touched me more than any other contemporary dance performance has. How they 'came out' and supported each other in the process of being their authentic selves. Inspirational!
