It’s A Kind of Wonder

Wearable Art Exhibition

The Castlemaine Fringe Festival brings its signature creativity and chaos to the State Festival with It’s A Kind of Wonder — a wearable art exhibition that transforms fashion into performance. Curated by Jody Galvin, Azzy Jay, Kya Moore, Ellen Doyle, Madeleine Somers, Martin John Lee, Andi Herman, Melissa Clark, Michelle Newton, and Kaz McMullan, the exhibition showcases handmade works that are bold, playful and unapologetically individual. Each piece redefines what it means to wear art — from sculptural headpieces to textile experiments that blur the line between costume and concept. The result is an explosion of colour, craft and character, true to Castlemaine’s reputation as a creative melting pot. It’s A Kind of Wonder is an invitation to revel in the weird and the wonderful — to see the human body not just as a canvas, but as a living artwork.
