‘Kiss Kiss! Bang Bang! takes its title from a Roald Dahl book of the same name.
The image of the couple references the comic style artworks by the American pop artist Roy Lichenstein. This image was a small postage stamp sized drawing which lanquished on my desk for years, awaiting the dawn of the computer age when I was able to enlarge it and give it some halftone, colour treatment using the magic of Photoshop.
This print was one of a suite of works- all digital collages – bringing together hundreds of similar scraps of paper collected over decades in a collection called The Mad Men Series.’
Kiss Kiss! Bang Bang! is currently on display at The Taproom, 5A/9 Walker St. Castlemaine.
