Julie Shaw is a Castlemaine-based mosaic artist. She exhibits at local art shows and opens her studio every year as part of Arts Open or by appointment. She works with ceramic tiles, china and glass.
“In ancient Egyptian culture, vultures were revered. They were symbols of femininity and protection and were worn as ornaments and head dresses. This mosaic is adhered to cement sheet and can hang outside.”
Egyptian Goddess with Vulture Headdress is currently on display at the Market Building, 44 Mostyn St. Castlemaine.
