Castlemaine State Festival has been committed to the activity of creative communities locally, nationally and internationally for over 40 years. CSF is now delighted to announce that construction of our new creative industries hub on the north side of the building, Goods Shed Arts, is now complete.
In 2016, CSF signed a long-term lease of the Castlemaine Goods Shed with the vision of extending its creative commitment beyond a biennial 10-day festival to be able to invite, facilitate and most importantly house creative activity on an ongoing year-round basis.
In April this year, the CSF team moved their headquarters to the building and will soon begin to share this wonderful asset with the local creative community and beyond. We envision Goods Shed Arts as an imaginative centre for creative activity where we will develop our festival works in multiple artforms as well as partner with artists and arts organisations to offer cultural events throughout the year.
Goods Shed Arts has air conditioned and furnished facilities that include a creative space, gathering rooms, offices and break out spaces. In addition to partnerships, there will be the capacity to accommodate long-term co-working tenancies, casual desk space and venue hire, all with access to reliable high speed internet.
Goods Shed Arts will grow to be a magical and inspiring hub of creation and we will welcome all to help us celebrate its launch later in the year. In the meantime, please enjoy a selection of images from our new home here.
In the meantime, expressions of interest are invited from those generally interested in residency, hire or partnership opportunities with Goods Shed Arts. And for a limited period of time, check out our special COVID-Relief GSA special offers designed to assist the more vulnerable of our creative community in their pursuit of continued artistic practice.
