Castlemaine State Festival and Vienna-based Live At Yours are hosting a world-leading concert on 17 March. The event is at 7:00pm at the Castlemaine Town Hall.Virtuoso violinist Yamen Saadi, and Australian piano maestro Simon Tedeschi will perform works by Kreisler, Grieg and Brahms.

Both Yamen and Simon are world-class classical musicians. Classical is one of several performing genres that the Castlemaine State Festival will embrace in its 2026 festival.

Yamen Saadi was appointed concertmaster of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic, at age 25 years and is renowned for his serene lyricism, effortless virtuosity, and elegance. He brings to the performance a  1734 violin crafted by Stradivarius – once owned by  acclaimed composer Kreisler, to whom Yamen pays homage in his several recitals. Yamen plays alongside acclaimed Australian pianist Simon Tedeschi in an exclusive performance.

Yamen will perform masterworks by Kreisler, and Grieg’s deeply romantic Sonata No. 3, showcasing his exquisite artistry and deep musical sensitivity. Despite his young age, Yamen has already performed with renowned orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Berlin, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the batons of esteemed conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Lionel Bringuier, Lawrence Foster, Leonidas Kavakos, Christoph Poppen, and Lahav Shani.

Yamen’s  international career has seen him perform at Carnegie Hall, Elbphilharmonie, Rheingau Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Pau Casals Festival, and Jerusalem Festival. Hee made his Tokyo recital debut at the Hamarikyu Asahi Hall and Musashino Civic Cultural Hall.

Joining him is Simon Tedeschi, one of Australia’s most celebrated pianists. Winner of numerous international awards, Tedeschi has performed at major venues worldwide.
