During their residency in Castlemaine leading up to the festival, a woodwind ensemble from the Australian Youth Orchestra will mentor Castlemaine Secondary School students for 2 days of workshops prior to the Festival.

At the culmination of the workshops, the AYO Woodwind Ensemble and Castlemaine Secondary College students will merge to form the Goldfields Secondary Woodwind Ensemble, with a performance on Saturday 16 March.
