Casey Bennetto (KEATING!, A Largely Fanciful History of the Spiegeltent, Evening, The Terminativity, Northcote Country Soul) has been writing songs for longer than he dares recall. Topics like the Big Banana, Indira Naidoo, John Howard, old cigarette lighters, the Melbourne Star and the pleasures of a comfortable chair on a fine old verandah all feature in his ouevre. Sometimes witty, sometimes moving, sometimes irredeemably foolish, though more often than not often a mix of all three, Casey’s back catalogue is impressive. So it’s about time he teamed up with some friends and had a good old-fashioned sing-song on The Verandah.
Joining Casey for this one-night-only performance are Castlemaine’s own sparkling cabaret chanteuse Aurora Kurth (Take The L Out Of Lover), renowned pianist Enio Pozzebon (KEATING!) and bass-playing maestro Vincenzo Ruberto (La Mauvaise Reputation) along with a special guest (or several).
