German pianist Mona Asuka, the younger sister of classical darling Alice Sara Ott, made her orchestral debut at the age of 13 and has now played with many of the greatest philharmonic orchestras in the world, winning numerous first prizes in international competitions.

Gramophone reviewed her 2017 debut solo recording of works by Schubert and Liszt, and said of her take on Liszt’s Gondoliera: ‘Asuka obtains just the right shimmer and delicacy’. She’ll be playing that plus Schubert/Liszt selections at Castlemaine State Festival, as well as one work by Mozart and one by Beethoven.
