The Big String Day is a joyful, all-ages workshop and performance for string players of every level — from beginner violinists to seasoned cellists. Presented by Resonance String Orchestra, this inclusive event celebrates community music-making in its purest form. Participants will join professional mentors for a day of ensemble playing, technique-sharing and discovery. The program culminates in a participants massed performance, filling the space with the sound of dozens of instruments playing together — an unforgettable experience of shared rhythm and harmony. Led by the passionate Resonance team, The Big String Day creates opportunities for learning, connection, and creative confidence across generations. Whether you’ve been playing for decades or just picked up your first bow, this is your invitation to join the orchestra — and feel the joy of strings in full flight.

“I just wanted to say thank-you so much for the opportunity to participate in the Big String Day. The experience was entirely new to me, and I was grateful for the support I received on the day. Not once did I feel judged for my lack of experience. Many thanks to you and your team. You all have a remarkable talent, especially given that you were coordinating such a diverse group of musicians.”
