Castlemaine State Festival presents
Nightwalks with Teenagers
By Mammalian Diving Reflex
When’s the last time you let a teenager make your decisions for you?
Mammalian Diving Reflex’s Nightwalks with Teenagers lets young people design a public walks, sharing their haunts with the community and opening up new lines of conversation and connection. This social experiment is the concept of the Toronto-based company, which creates site- and social-specific events.
Nightwalks… takes inspiration from the Situationist notion of the “derive” and applies a psychogeographic lens to our towns and cities. As noted in The Guardian: “These kids give us the gift of being allowed to behave like children again.”
If you, or a teen you know aged 14-18 would like to be a creator on Nightwalks with Teenagers please email kate@castlemainefestival.com.au by COB Friday 10 March
