GOODS SHED ARTS VENUE HIRE
Located in Castlemaine Goods Shed, Goods Shed Arts is Castlemaine State Festivals ongoing home for artists, workers and those wanting to celebrate. As well as housing the CSF office, it is available for one off & regular events, workshops, rehearsals, creative development & performance, co-working, business seminars and parties.
Featuring flexible spaces in a beautiful, industrial historic building, close to public transport in the creative hub of Castlemaine, it’s the perfect for functions of all shapes and sizes. So, whether you are developing a new work, hosting a corporate event for clients or a party with your friends, wanting a wedding with a signature style, or looking for a new working space, Goods Shed Arts has you covered.
All profits from your venue hire at the Goods Shed go towards supporting the Castlemaine State Festival, Creative Residencies and our Creative Learning Program, so you can make a postivie impact with your next function. We proudly offer reduced fees for community organisations and artists.
Goods Shed Arts is a culturally and physically safe space for our community, including LGBTIQ+, First Nations Peoples and people with a disability.
CREATIVE SPACE
Ideal for development, rehearsals and performances of creative works and the perfect place for large-scale events and celebrations including; conferences, filming, photography, expos, corporate presentations, forums, training and seminars, weddings, parties…anything!
An 11m x 18m space with concrete floor. Use of this space includes access to the Residency / Studio room if required. Chairs, tables a projector and PA system are available on request. This space is not air-conditioned and there is no permanent Black Out. Ideal for development, rehearsals and presentation of creative works and large-scale events.
Community rate $200 per day or $600 per week.
Commercial rate $350 per day or $1000 per week.
RESIDENCY ROOM
Ideal for use as an office, dressing room, or a green room when using the adjacent Creative Space. Perfect for smaller creative developments and workshops.
A 4.5m x 5m room with marmoleum flooring and the ability to be blacked out. Furniture consists of a working table, chairs, lounge, dressing room mirrors and lockable storage space. Ideal for use as an office, dressing room, green room when using the adjacent Creative Space and can be used for smaller creative developments and workshops.
Community rate $100 per day or $400 per week.
Commercial rate $200 per day or $700 per week.
MCMULLIN MEETING ROOM
Planning a seminar or creative development? With a boardroom table, built in projection screen, and blackout curtains the McMullin room is perfect for meetings, interviews, presentations, training, auditions and more.
A 4.5m x 5.5m room with marmoleum flooring and ability to be blacked out. Furniture consists of a meeting table and 12 chairs set in meeting style as well as in-built projection screen. Projector will be available upon request. Ideal for meetings and workshops.
Community rate $130 per day, $80 per half-day, $500 per week.
Commercial rate $250 per day, $150 per half-day, $800 per week.
EVENT SPACE
Comprising the Residency Room combined with the McMullin Meeting room. Ideal for larger meetings and workshops as well as medium sized functions or presentations.
A 4.5m x 10.5m room comprising of the Residency / Studio room combined with the Meeting / Workshop Room. Additional chairs available if required and will nicely accommodate theatre style seating. Ideal for larger meetings and workshops as well as medium size functions or presentations.
Community rate $180 per day
Commercial rate $300 per day
EQUIPMENT
Your venue hire includes up to fifty chairs and four trestle tables.

HIRE BOND
Hire bond is equivalent of 25% of your total booking fee and is payable on booking. The hire bond will be returned to you within a week after your hire date.
