40 YEARS 20 FESTIVALS

If there is any one time to experience the exceptional artistic and creative verve that defines this region, it is during the biennial Castlemaine State Festival.

The Festival’s 40th anniversary, and 20th Festival, falls in 2015 and we will not hold back on celebrating its ‘coming of age’.

Before & Beyond: 40 Years & 20 Festivals is our 2015 theme, chosen to honour the Festival’s remarkable past and the people who have shaped it, whilst creating new art-making and audience experiences.

This is going to be a ‘big bang’ party and a gift from our Festival artists to you, the audience.

As you will discover, there are more than twenty newly commissioned works that have been created especially for this occasion.
