Archie’s life story is a vital contribution to Australia’s understanding of the Stolen Generations, and it’s one that he shared in his recent memoir, Tell Me Why. Taken at the age of two from parents he never saw again, he was placed into foster care. He started writing songs after meeting his soulmate Ruby Hunter when they were homeless teenagers, and his heartbreaking signature song, ‘Took the Children Away’ became an anthem. In this session, with musician Dan Kelly, he will revisit those incredible tales through songs and words.
