Castlemaine State Festival presents
Gareth Evans: Australia as a Good International Citizen
Keynote
Why should we care about human rights atrocities, health epidemics, poverty, environmental catastrophes, or any other problems afflicting faraway countries? Gareth Evans AC QC was Australia’s foreign minister between 1988 and 1996, and will discuss Australia’s place in the world with Thom Woodroofe, who is senior advisor on Multilateral Affairs to the President of the Asia Society Policy Institute, and previously worked in the diplomatic negotiations of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
