Castlemaine State Festival presents

Goldner String Quartet

Let the Goldner String Quartet transport you around the world in 60 minutes, in a concert that will include ‘White Cockatoo Spirit Dance’ from 1998 (despite the title, composer Ross Edwards took some inspiration from insects); ‘Quartet No.2’, written by Russian romantic composer Alexander Borodin in 1881; and Joaquín Turina’s ardent 1925 chamber tone poem ‘La Oración del Torero’ (‘The Bullfighter’s Prayer’). The world-renowned quartet celebrates its 26th anniversary this year, and still retains all four founding members.
